Timothy Quigley has been teaching privately for over 14 years. He has taught through Naropa University and given lecture demonstrations at colleges and universities. Timothy has offered instruction to people of all ages and abilities, from beginners to professional musicians.

Quigley started playing drums at the age of nine and began working professionally from the time he left high school. While studying music theory and composition at The Evergreen State College, he apprenticed with Ghanaian master drummer and dancer Chata Addy and spent the next three years performing with his traditional and comtemporary ensembles. Although primarily self taught, Quigley has studied with Bill Doulgas, Jerry Granelli and Art Lande. Because of his extensive experience performing and recording in a wide variety of music settings (swing, rock, afro pop, klezmer, jazz/new music, electronica, Brazilian and Balkan music) he is able to personalize his lessons to each student's interests. Timothy Quigley teaches throughout the NYC area, both through The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and out of his studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn- conveniently located near the L train. He is also available to come to you for an additional fee. He offers instruction on drum set congas, doumbek, tapan, frame drums and beginning guitar.
